Amplify Your Voice

Official Description: This workshop is designed for attendees to take a “deep-dive” into how to use the audio and sound design creative process to build deeper relationships and foster meaningful conversations with the students we serve. We will focus on and practice the ways in which we teach this creative skillset, and how to use those teachings to support and engage in the deeper day-to-day needs of our young people. Through the technical (audio engineering) and soft-skills (SEL) practiced in this session, attendees will be able to help youth advocate for themselves using the creative process as their voice.

Layman's Description: Using several different creative outlets - beat making, podcasting, and original sound design - attendees will learn how to faciliate programs that speak to your young peoples’ needs.

DO Conference Hype: The audio and sound design creative process is a fun and healthy way to escape. It helps with moods, emotions, and connections; it is also one of the most popular methods for humans to be vocal and expressive. Consequently, this process is important for young people and adults alike - especially when we need a different method to have an uncomfortable conversation, address damaging or harming actions, and/or reshape an oppressive narrative. I strongly encourage you to “amplify your voice” in this session.

*Disclaimer: The Do Conference does not guarantee record deals, labels, and/or multi-million dollar podcast rights as a result of your participation in this session. However, if it happens, we get 10%. Done deal!
